A Small Automation That Removed a Daily Copy-and-Paste

A regional roofing and exteriors contractor

The challenge

Customer information had to be moved by hand between the operational system and the reputation management platform that requests reviews. It was a small task, but a daily one, and the kind that quietly stops happening when the person responsible is busy — which is exactly when reviews matter most.

Where we came in

Not every integration justifies custom development. When the systems involved both have decent connectors and the volume is modest, the honest recommendation is the low-code tool, not a bespoke service we would then have to maintain. We scoped this deliberately small.

What we did

  • Mapped the fields that actually needed to move, rather than syncing everything available
  • Connected the operational system to the reputation platform using an established automation service
  • Kept the build inside a low-code tool the client can inspect and adjust themselves

Where it landed

  • Customer records flow into the review platform without anyone re-entering them
  • Built on tooling the client can maintain, rather than a bespoke service dependent on us
  • Scoped to a small, well-defined job instead of expanded into a platform

Technologies

  • Zapier
  • Reputation Management Platform
  • Webhook Automation
